Vessel Knife - for coronary artery surgery |

Advantages
& Unique features of Vessel Knife: 1. The Material: Vessel Knife has been made using the gAISI 302 Mani specialh Stainless steel, which is a patented material for the ingredients as well as the process of making, which possesses the best strength and flexibility (Ductility). All the presently available blades have been made using the regular 400series stainless steel. The AISI 302 Mani special stainless steel gives this knife excellent strength to pierce a calcified or atheromatous coronary vessel. 2.
The
Length: The
Vessel Knife blade has been designed short enough to prevent any injury to
the posterior wall of the vessel.
The total length of the Vessel Knife blade is only 3mm. The lumen of the
coronary vessel is in general 1.0 to 1.5 mm with the vessel wall measuring
about 1 to 1.5 mm approximately. 3.
The
Design:
MANIfs Vessel Knife is the only knife designed with itfs summit (the
sharpest front edge- pointed out by a hollow arrow in fig.1) falling
in line with the direction of the force of stab incision (pointed by an
Orange line in Fig.1) by the surgeon, which results in a controlled
stab wound on the anterior wall of the vessel as desired by the surgeon,
in a straight fashion. Whereas almost all the presently available blades
have with their sharpest front edge, not coinciding with the vector of the
direction of the handling which is explained in Fig.
1. The end result
would be an over shooting pricking force ending up with pricking the
posterior wall of the vessel and also an unbalanced and/or zigzag stab
incision. 4.
The
Edges:
MANIfs vessel knife edges are rounded off (indicated by Green Arrow
in Fig. 2) to facilitate an easy entry and straight incision, whereas
other blades have staged contour (indicated by Red Arrows in Fig. 2),
which may result in an incision that may not be in a straight line and
also may lead to minor dissection like wound in thick, calcified or
atheromatous vessels. (See Fig 2.) 5.
The
Angles: As the
Coronary arteries of three major vessels at different locations have to be
dealt with by the surgeon from different handling and incising angles,
MANIfs vessel knife blades (straight & angled blades) and the
handles (straight & angled handles) could be fixed in different
combinations to approach the different angles of incision in the most
convenient angle as required by the surgeon. |
